Hi,

Just got a renewal quote from Carole Nash on my GL1800 Trike.

I got a shock by how much it increased since 2012 so I need to shop around.

Anyone know who else I could try for a quote?

Thanks

Frank O'Reilly:puzzled:

I have just had a similar shock from Carole Nash so I made a few phone calls and the best quote I got was from LIBERTY, however they would not insure two bikes on one policy and they would charge nearly as much to cover a 16 year old bike as a new Wing.

I got a great deal from ADELAIDE (048 90442200) They seem to be bikers and know what they are talking about which makes a change from the usual clerk types in many of the other companies I contacted.

Thanks John.

I just tried Adelaide but their insurer in the Republic is Sun Alliance who will not cover trikes

I'll keep shopping around...

Ciao,

Frank

Hi Frank,  I dont know about trikes but Carole Nash always send me a quote that they seem to just pull out of the air with some stupid combination of numbers, I tell them i got a cheeper quote and they always come back with a better one.  I am still with them.  My brother has had the same experiance.  its not very fair but they just seem to fire out some big quote in hopes that you will just take it and i guess a lot of people do.

Tom....:puzzled:

Yep Ive been with Carole Nash for years and they always send out a " ball park " quote but when I ring , I always manage to get it down, I firmly believe that they issue a high quote in the hope that you will ring  them  cos it saves them chasing you for the business .
Frank , Did you get your quote by post or did you ring ? hopefully a phone call might bring it down.

Called Carole Nash when I got renewal quote and they knocked €20 off - wow!

Better than nothing, I suppose.

best regards,

Frank

I just renewed my insurance from Carole Nash I got a quote from Adelaide then phoned Carole Nash back, told them the quote ( which was nearly the CN quote ) and they matched it without losing out on any benefits try that

Wow Eric, you took the words right outta my mouth.

Just to add: If you don't answer their quote, they'll ring you..........so be ready to tell them that you've got another quote........around the same as you paid last year :grinningdevil:

It worked for me last year

A lot of our trike customers use bikesure for their insurance and find them the most reasonable.  Telephone number from the north is 0800 089 8070 Ref G2992 or http://www.bikesure.co.uk    No harm in giving them a try! Good luck

Unfortunatley that is for the UK and we are in Ireland and UK insurance is not acceptable by the authorities here .The insurance company must be based in the Republic of Ireland ..
